How to become an Orderly
Those who want to be orderlies generally go through a training course that lasts between two to six months on average. They then take a certification exam in the locality they want to work in. Those who plan to work in New York, for example, need to pass New York's Certified Nursing Assistant Exam. Other states or provinces have their own equivalents. The test is composed of a written and a practical exam. Each locality may have other requirements as well, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and certification.
